Parkinson: Wrexham Signed "High Quality" Player
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has praised the signing of midfielder Aaron Hayden, calling him a "high quality" addition to the squad.
The 25-year-old, who joins from League Two side Barrow, penned a two-year deal with the Racecourse Ground outfit on Wednesday.
Parkinson was clearly delighted with the capture of Hayden, who boasts a wealth of experience in the lower leagues. He told the club website: "Aaron is a high-quality player who has been playing consistently well at a good level. He has a lot of experience and is a good character, which is important to us."
Hayden's arrival comes at a crucial time for Wrexham, who are looking to build on a successful season that saw them narrowly miss out on automatic promotion to League One.
The Dragons will be aiming for a top-two finish in the upcoming season, and Hayden's versatility in midfield, ability to control possession, and composure on the ball will undoubtedly be a huge asset.
Parkinson continued, highlighting Hayden's key strengths: "He can play in a number of positions in midfield, and he's got a good range of passing. He's also a good defender, and he's always willing to put his body on the line for the team. He's the kind of player we need to help us achieve our goals."
Hayden himself expressed his excitement at joining Wrexham, stating his ambition to help the club achieve success.
"I'm really happy to be here. Wrexham is a big club with a great history, and I'm looking forward to playing in front of the fans," he said. "I want to come here and help the team be successful. I'm confident I can make a positive impact."
The signing of Hayden marks another shrewd piece of business for Parkinson and his staff.
The manager has shown his commitment to building a strong squad, and with the likes of Hayden joining the ranks, Wrexham are certainly looking well-equipped for a successful season ahead. Fans will be eagerly awaiting the start of the new campaign to see how Hayden slots into the team and whether he can contribute to the club's ambitions for promotion.
