Kaine Crashes 'SNL' Game Show, Stumps Contestant with Hilarious Results
Saturday Night Live took a wild turn this week when former Vice President Al Gore appeared on the show's popular game show segment, "Celebrity Jeopardy!". But the real highlight of the episode was an unexpected, and utterly hilarious, cameo from Senator Bernie Sanders, who crashed the game, leaving one contestant utterly baffled.
The skit opened with Gore facing off against "Celebrity Jeopardy!" veteran, Kenan Thompson, playing as his alter ego "Charles Barkley". The category was "Current Events," and Gore, ever the political pundit, was dominating the board.
Suddenly, the stage lights dimmed, and the iconic "Feel the Bern" campaign music started blaring. Out of the shadows walked none other than Senator Sanders, dressed in his signature suit and tie, carrying a large, cardboard cutout of himself.
"Bernie!" shouted Gore, clearly surprised.
"I'm here to play!" Sanders declared, pushing the cardboard cutout onto the podium, causing Thompson's Barkley to stumble backward in disbelief.
The scene was pure chaos as Sanders' cardboard cutout began "answering" questions with pre-written slogans like "Medicare for All!" and "Feel the Bern!", much to the amusement of the audience.
The contestant, a young woman named Sarah, was visibly confused, trying to figure out what was going on. She eventually leaned over to Gore and whispered, "Is this... part of the game?"
Gore, struggling to maintain his composure, simply responded with a shrug.
The sketch culminated in a hilarious moment where Sanders' cardboard cutout, after answering a question with "Tax the Rich!", somehow managed to steal the game from Gore, leaving Sarah dumbfounded and the audience roaring with laughter.
This unexpected, and completely unplanned, appearance from Sanders is sure to become a highlight of the season for "SNL" fans. It's a testament to the show's ability to create spontaneous and hilarious moments, all while poking fun at the political landscape with wit and humor.
