Hertha BSC: Siegesserie in der 2. Liga beendet
Hertha BSC's impressive winning streak in the 2. Bundesliga came to an end on Saturday as they drew 1-1 against SV Sandhausen. The Berliners had won their previous four matches, but they were unable to overcome a resilient Sandhausen side.
The match at the BWT-Stadion am Hardtwald started poorly for Hertha. The home side took the lead in the 21st minute when Pascal Testroet capitalized on a defensive lapse to score the opening goal. Hertha struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first half and went into the break trailing.
The second half saw a much-improved Hertha performance. They pressed high and created several opportunities, finally finding the equalizer through a stunning free-kick from Marvin Plattenhardt in the 76th minute. Despite several late chances, Hertha were unable to secure all three points and had to settle for a draw.
This result leaves Hertha in 2nd place in the 2. Bundesliga table. They remain in a strong position to challenge for promotion back to the Bundesliga, but the draw against Sandhausen will be a disappointment after their recent winning run.
Despite the setback, there are plenty of positives to take away from the match. Hertha showed resilience and character to come back from a goal down, and they created enough chances to win the game. The team remains confident and focused on their goal of promotion.
The focus now shifts to the upcoming match against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday. Hertha will be looking to bounce back from the draw and continue their push for a return to the top flight.
