Drei Verletzte nach Unfall auf A72
Three people were injured in an accident on the A72 near Gera on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the direction of Hof, between the Gera-Langenbogen and Gera-Zwötzen junctions.
According to initial reports, a car driver lost control of their vehicle and collided with the crash barrier. The car then overturned, coming to rest on its roof.
Two other cars were involved in the accident, but the extent of their damage is not yet clear.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and treated three people for their injuries. One person was seriously injured and was transported to a hospital in Gera. The other two individuals sustained minor injuries.
The A72 was closed for several hours during the rescue operation and accident investigation. Traffic was diverted via the Gera-Zwötzen junction. The highway was reopened around 9:30 p.m.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police are asking any witnesses to the accident to contact the Gera police station.
