A72: Three Injured in Accident
Three people were injured in an accident on the A72 near Jena on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the direction of Gera between the Jena-Zwätzen and Jena-Göschwitz junctions. According to initial reports, a car driver lost control of their vehicle and collided with the central barrier. Two other vehicles were then involved in the crash.
Three people, including the driver who initially lost control, were injured in the accident. The severity of their injuries is currently unknown. All three were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
The A72 was completely blocked in the direction of Gera for about two hours. The police and fire department were deployed to the scene. Traffic was diverted and a traffic jam formed several kilometers long.
